We start with a video call so we can get to know each other and talk through your project. We’ll ask questions about your home, what you’re hoping to accomplish, your priorities, timing, and investment. We’ll also explain how we work and answer your questions about 5stone.

Not every project is right for us, and we’re not right for every client. That’s okay. The goal is simply to determine whether we’re aligned and it makes sense to take the next step together.

Design doesn’t happen in isolation at 5stone. Our design, estimating, production, and sales teams collaborate as the project develops. Together, we consider how your home should look and function, how we’ll build it, what it will cost, and what needs to be resolved before construction begins.

When we’re ready, we’ll present the design, explain the thinking behind it, listen to your response, and refine from there.

You don’t need to come to us with the solution. That’s what you’ve hired us to help you find.

What will it take to build it?

A great design isn’t enough. We need to be ready to build it.

Before construction begins, we work through the details, finalize selections, confirm pricing, coordinate trade partners, order long-lead materials, and develop the construction schedule. We also coordinate the necessary municipal approvals and permitting so you don’t have to navigate that process on your own.

We can’t eliminate every surprise in remodeling. We’re working with an existing home, after all. But good planning can eliminate many of the surprises that didn’t need to happen.

We would rather solve problems around a table than solve them after construction begins.

Because design and construction have been connected from the beginning, our production team isn’t seeing your project for the first time when construction starts. They’ve helped shape the plan and understand what we’re working to accomplish.

That collaboration doesn’t stop when construction begins. Design remains connected to the project, working alongside production as details are resolved and the vision becomes reality.

We coordinate the people, materials, schedule, communication, and details required to bring the design to life. Throughout construction, you’ll know what’s happening, what’s coming next, and who to turn to when you have questions.
